Van Beek Nutritional's mineral plant is newly constructed
fall 2000. It is a state-of-the-art mixing/blending
mineral mill. It has a 24-ton per hour production capability.
The mill has a 90° galvanized receiving elevator
with self-cleaning drags.

The batching program is WEM 4000 Windows NT based operating
system. It has active formula or pending formula capability.
Bin inventory location is maintained and the product
used in the formulas is automatically subtracted from
the inventory. By checking itself 17 times per second
for weight accuracy, the program controls the weigh
hopper measurements for accurate formula control.
The product mixer is an all stainless steel, bottom
discharge Marion Mixer, with 12 adjustable stainless
steel paddle blades. It has a maximum load capacity
of 5,000 lbs. per batch and a 24-ton per hour capability.
On top of the mixer there is a 42" x 24" access
door with a safety grid for visual inspection.
The product bagging system is a Taylor TEVG, gravity
flow, open mouth bagging scale, with a range of 15-125
lbs. It has a 2-speed belt, for better control of erratic
flowing/variable density products. Weigh parameters
can be stored for up to 25 different products.
The finished bulk products are delivered using a 1999
Walinga tanker trailer. It has eight separate 4-ton
aluminum compartments. A 9" paddle drag conveyor
feeds a 10" upright stinger for unloading. The
Walinga is also capable of hauling
1-ton of bagged product on each side of the main compartments,
covered by a roll down tarp for weather protection.
The tanker is pulled by a 1999 International 8100 6x4
day tripper. For local bagged product delivery, we use
a 1998 GMC 1-ton flatbed truck, with a 4-ton load capacity.
